Technavio analysts expect the wine market in Europe to decline at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of less than 1% through 2019. The research and advisory company estimates the volume of wine consumption in Europe, which was nearly 18 million liters in 2014, will drop to under 17.5 million liters by 2019.

Direct Wine Shipments to Consumers Grow Faster than Wine Retail Market in 2015

In the United States, 43 out of the 50 states allow direct shipment of wine to consumers, and these consumers continue to embrace this wine-by-mail option. The newly released 2016 Direct-to-Consumer Wine Shipping Report issued by ShipCompliant and Wines & Vines shows the volume of winery shipments to consumers grew at a rate four times greater than the overall U.S. retail off-premise wine market grew in 2015.
